"I love the product... My players are impressed with the quality. The accuracy of the lasers. My players love the fact it has long-range capabilities," Pat Charles, Clarksville VA USA

The Target Box

The Target Box is a must-have accessory for Target Tag. It is a multi-purpose game prop that can be used for Target Tag games or reconfigured for Laser Tag games! Target Boxes enable you to reduce your staffing overhead.

The Target acts as a prop in a myriad of games. The Target Box has red, blue, or purple LEDs that flash right on the target!

There are three ways to interact with the Target Box
  • Get in close (proximity)
  • Shoot it, or
  • Press a button.
The software within will do the work for you. Target Boxes help make your games run smoothly and efficiently.

Target Boxes can be set to undertake many actions. These settings support a broad range of exercises and games, and different games have different requirements for Targets.

Target Tag Mechanics

One of the most common functions of a Target Box is to be set as a Flash Target.

Periodically, the box will flash either Red, Blue, or Purple. A player on the Red Team can tag the box when it flashes red to score a point. They get no points if they tag the box when it flashes Blue or Purple.

That's the first of many Target Tag games.

Furthermore, Target Boxes can act just like the larger Battle Box. For example, you can set it to Medic. This setting respawns players. Gamers must stand near the box, and the system automatically returns all their health points. This frees up your hands and keeps the gameplay running smoothly.

As you can see, there are loads of different things the battle box can be configured to do!

How Many Battle Boxes Do You Need?

This will depend on the number of taggers you use and which Target Tag games you wish to run.

In addition to your base number, we highly recommend adding the following:

Radio Repeater
We recommend having a dedicated Radio Repeater. This can be a Battle Box with a whip antenna, or a smaller Target Box set the same.

Spare Box
While any device can act as a spare battle box, replacing a box with a box is ideal. For example, if one of the boxes goes flat.

EXERCISE: FLASH

When you have 24 Taggers, the minimum number of boxes for a Flash game is six. Players dash between the boxes to score as many points as possible.

EXERCISE: GAUNTLET

Players run through a gauntlet, tagging several targets along a course. This could be in a straight line, taking them to the end or as part of an exploration game with a time limit. For this reason, when you have 24 Taggers, you only need six targets to make it an enjoyable game.

EXERCISE: LEVEL UP

This game is all about hitting loads of targets in a short amount of time. While six is workable for a group of 24, we recommend adding more targets!

EXERCISE: QUICKFIRE

In this exercise, players tag targets as quickly as possible. To ensure everyone gets a chance to tag a target, it's best to have 12 target boxes for a group of 24.

Funner & Less Stress

After going to Reno Nevada I realized I needed the Battle Boxes, makes the game much funner and is less stress on the staff. It's amazing and funny how people in the freeway tell me to slow down to get the [booking] number, and every where I go people stop me to ask for business cards. Very much excited.
