For the first time in the United Kingdom players can experience a live-action version of Kill Zone at Warhammer Fest.
UK gamers can roleplay as the stoic imperial guardsmen or bloodthirsty Orks at this gaming convention. All players needed to dominate the battlefield. They vie for victory in a multi-point domination game.
Using the custom laser tag technology from Battlefield Sports, gamers can play as the stoic imperial guardsmen or as the bloodthirsty Orks as they try to dominate the battlefield.
So successful were the previous live experiences, Warhammer is revisiting the thrill in 2025.
Games Workshop employed Battlefield Sports live-action gaming technology SATR3 to power the live-action gaming experience.
Shawn Thorsson, a cosplay prop maker from Thorsson & Associates Workshop in California, USA, made the gun cases.
From Mini to Macro: each laser tagger was housed in a bespoke enclosure.
Each gaming gun has unique characteristics, including checkerboard patterns, oversized bullets, claw marks, etc.
Laser tag + Warhammer 40,000! Kit up as either a Veteran Guardsman or Ork Kommando and play a mission from Kill Team! GenCon Indy recently included live-action tickets that covered safety briefing, taggers, and one round of exhilarating Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team!
Gamers were split into two teams of (roughly) equal numbers and played three-point domination!
Last year, as part of the release of Warhammer's Kill Team, gamers at the PAX Unplugged event could live the game.
The live-action experience was in Philadelphia, PA.
The live-action gaming experience was free for Warhammer+ subscribers.
Warhammer Fest in Manchester UK is this year's biggest Games Workshop convention.
The event's website says, "Get ready for the greatest Warhammer convention the world has ever seen,“ Warhammer Fest.
This incredible three-day spectacular is your chance to join fans worldwide in experiencing the Warhammer universe like never before.
The event will include exciting tournaments, the world-renowned Golden Demon painting competition, breathtaking displays, live entertainment, model reveals, and more.
The players had the opportunity to experience a real-life Spec Ops mission with the Kill Team Live laser tag.
This is the first time Warhammer Laser Tag is in the UK.
Participants can get hands-on with full-size replica lasguns as they embark on a daring mission pulled right from the pages of Kill Team, capturing objectives and scoring points for their teams, without a botched attack roll in sight.
Their blog reported: "Guardsmen and Orks are skirmishing over vital tactical objectives at Warhammer Fest in the incredible Kill Team Live.
The finest men and women of the Astra Militarum have been doing their best to drive off the Waaagh! with their reliable, standard-issue lasguns, but mobs of Orks have been tagging left, right, and center with ramshackle shoots, which pump out a ridiculous amount of dakka. We wonder who will have control of the kill zone when the smoke clears."
Before Warhammer Fest, there was PAX Unplugged. PAX is a tabletop gaming-focused event specifically tailored to lovers of board games, RPGs, miniatures, cards, and more.
The event featured: thought-provoking panels, a massive expo hall filled with the best publishers and studio, new game demos, tournaments, and a community experience unlike any other.
The Pax tour includes Boston, MA, Seattle, WA, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, and Philadelphia, PA.
Each event attracts around 15,000 to 20,000 attendees.
The Philly event had more than 150 exhibitors, including Steven Jackson Games, the Society for Creative Anachronism, and of course, Games Workshop.
Kill Team Octarius was launched amid high expectations.
As well as a board game, Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is a top-down shooter game with twin-stick control, set in the Warhammer 40k future fantasy universe.
Using SATR3 technology, the team created the fantasy combat test, which was exciting and the gamers loved. People queued for this experience.
"Got to play Killteam LIVE - and it was awesome playing as a Kriegsman killing some Orks!" said TaTenk via Reddit.com.
"It was an event held at PAX Unplugged which is Kill Team laser tag. They have the lasers modelled as lasguns or shootaz," he said.
As well as the live-action gaming experience, the Warhammer crew also had a booth, a store, demo games, and painting opportunities.
