Can you Dominate the Battlefield?

The Domination Mission

domination game

The Domination mission is inspired by the classic Domination game found in Call of Duty. Gamers battle over a central area.

Whichever team controls that area the longest: wins. Battlefield Sports uses one of their awesome Battle Boxes to track this.

The Battle Box is set as a "Domination Box" using the Recommend Options list. Using the list, it only takes a few seconds to have the box ready to go for the mission.

The Domination mission is typically played with two teams (Red vs Blue) but it's also great fun with three teams (Red vs Blue vs Purple).

When a gamer on the Red team shoots the sensor on the box, the box will start flashing Red. If a Blue team gamer shoots the box, it flashes blue. The box keeps track of how long each team had the box. At the end of the game, it calculated the winner.

Domination is a great game due to its flexibility. It can be enjoyed with as little as 3 people or as many as 300.  Small tweaks to how the game is set up allow this game to go BIG!

So Excited

We are SOOOO EXCITED to have the domination box....it is working so good for our events.

Running Large Groups

The key to running large groups is to spread out the action. This creates more thrilling moments, in more locations. Furthermore, it reduces the risk of accidental collisions.

Having a supply crate on the field is always a great idea regardless of how many players, but once the game has approximately 20 gamers, having two crates on the flanks is a must.

For missions with approximately 20 or more gamers, set up 2 supply crates. These can be place on the wings, or closer to each team's base.

Once the game has approximately 40 gamers, expand it once again! In this case, it's a good idea to have 3 Domination Boxes on the field. These should be placed in a row, with each box being equally as accessible from both team's bases.

Then place the supply crates roughly halfway between the Domination boxes and the team's medic boxes. Players can stop at the Supply Crate on their way to the Domination Boxes. Once again, this spreads the gamers out.

Every corner of the battlefield is now utilised - which gamers love!!

People are Raving about it

I'm really getting excited about our laser tag! I really feel that this could be big for us. Our battlefield area is really cool and a fun place to play. Last weekend we had about 100 sorority girls from San Jose State play. We've had at risk youth from Oakland and Watsonville, boys soccer team, youth groups and our guest groups play. The gear gets used every weekend. People are raving about it.

Scoring the Mission

In the case of a game of Domination with a single Domination box (called "One Point Domination"), the team that holds that box the longest wins.

In a game with 3 Domination Boxes (called "Three Point Domination"), the team holds at least two boxes the longest wins.

Use the master controller or scoreboard to monitor the scores on-the-go.

At the end of the game, the controller/scoreboard will calculate the winner. From there, you can choose to announce the winning team to all gamers on the field. They will each hear a phrase like "Red Team is Victorious!".

What do you need to run this mission?

  • X number of Taggers
  • A master controller or Scoreboard app
  • A radio repeater (if playing in a large area)
  • 3 x Battle Boxes
