Battlefield Sports has partnered with Support the Girls to provide underwear equity for Australians
Battlefield Sports is proud to partner with Support the Girls to give access to supportive bras and essential hygiene products.
Access to these products is a basic human right and a lack of these resources can perpetuate shame, stress and mental health issues for women and girls who are often already facing disadvantage, trauma and abuse.
This issue is seen far and wide across metro regions as well as rural, remote areas and Indigenous communities.
The charity's mission to help disadvantaged women reclaim their sense of self-worth.
Jane says the situations she has found herself in are prime examples.
She says “If people meet me, they assume I am financially secure and well educated. I had a privileged upbringing and the best education, but it is not a guarantee that you will not face financial hardship. There are a lot of women like me who are in strong financial positions who suddenly lose it all, whether divorce, domestic situations, loss of a spouse etc and most of these women are too proud to shout out for help. Society sees us as being comfortable and having it all together. This can more often or not be so far from the truth and it is important to give these women a safe environment to get help and support without judgement."

Provision of free bras and underwear now extends other collection points such as Canva in NSW and Illusions Lingerie in Victoria.
Note Support the Girls accept any preloved bras in good condition or brand new. They have to be really fussy with all the bras that they receive. They are all about empowering women and to do that they have to give them the best quality bras possible. Just any bra does not work. If bras are too preloved they cannot be fitted correctly, especially when the sides of the bras are overstretched. The best way to look at it is if you would to receive it and wear it, we will take it.
The collection basket is available in our store Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, excluding public holidays. Cash donations can also be made to Support the Girls year round. Questions? They have a FAQ on their website.
