Adding Laser Skirmish to an Adventure Parks = Good Business

Expanding into laser skirmish has been a big win for Glenworth Valley. The SATR Laser Tag equipment's versatility and ease of use have made it a perfect addition to their adventure offerings. Laser skirmish has been fully integrated into Glenworth Valley’s yearly special events, including the Horses’ Birthday and Glenworth Grazing festivals. These events attract large international groups, with laser skirmish sessions regularly seeing over 1,000 participants in a single weekend.

Glenworth Valley provides the perfect backdrop for an adrenaline-charged game of laser skirmish.

Laser skirmish is a team combat simulation game similar to laser tag played outdoors. Laser skirmish is like a live-action video game as players shoot laser tag guns with a harmless infrared beam, with a sensor detecting hits.

The weapons used are realistic in shape and weight and use infrared technology, which is detected by sensors on the player’s head and laser tag gun. Each player’s sensors are attached to their laser tag gun, so their laser tag gun is automatically deactivated when they are hit. The first team to deactivate all members of the other team wins. As the laser tag guns use harmless infrared beams, unlike paintball, there’s no mess or nasty bruises.

We can easily see over 1,000 customers doing laser tag in one weekend alone!! Our customers always leave with smiles on their faces.

20+ Years of Laser Games

Laser Skirmish at Glenworth Valley started in 2003 with the Classic System and a small set of 21 units.

In 2014, Glenworth Valley upgraded and expanded its laser tag arsenal to keep up with demand. It also embraced the new digital SATR system.

The new additions to their armory proved popular. Later that year, they added some more laser tag guns, specifically:

10 x Awesome Cobras

In 2023, they traded in their old metal taggers and expanded their activity with 40 x Awesome Cobras and more game props, i.e., Battle Boxes.

Laser Tag + Adventure Parks = A Good Solution

Battlefield Sports laser tag system works well with other adventure activities because the Laser Tag activity expands the business to entertain a wider audience and broader age group.

“Our staff love the versatility of the SATR Laser Tag equipment. The equipment can be set up in a matter of minutes. It's a breeze when it comes to operating the gaming guns, changing game settings, and running different game modes! The versatility of the laser tag guns also allows us to run special laser skirmish events. Glenworth Valley Wilderness Adventures has been using Battlefield Sports products & services for well over 20 years, and we are happy to say it has been a great company to do business with. We are proud to say we fully incorporated it into our yearly special events. For example, our Horses’ Birthday Festival and the Glenworth Grazing Festival attract international inbound groups. Those events can easily see over 1,000 customers doing laser skirmish in one weekend alone!! Laser skirmish is an activity that keeps gaining momentum regarding its popularity," Salvador Cordero, Wilderness Adventure Guide.

Laser skirmish is a team-based, live-action game similar to traditional laser tag but played outdoors. Players use realistic-looking gaming guns that emit harmless infrared beams detected by sensors on their heads and laser taggers (gaming guns). Unlike paintball, there are no projectiles (so no bruises!), no mess, and no projectiles. With live-action gaming, it's just pure, adrenaline-filled fun.

The system can only be turned on with the key and set to a "lock-out" mode. With this, you can configure it and lock it. Then, it will remain the same next time you turn the units on. Only the Operators can change the settings.

Why Laser Tag & Adventure Parks Are a Winning Combination

Battlefield Sports’ laser tag system is a perfect fit for adventure parks.

Here’s why:

  • Weather-resistant: Play rain or shine, in heat or cold.
  • Security features: Systems can only be operated with a key and can be locked into operator-only settings.
  • Broader appeal: Laser skirmish attracts a wide range of age groups, helping parks expand their audience.
