MOVE over geek boys, time-poor women are the embracing technology ahead of their male counterparts for everyday tasks from maintaining the family's social network to online banking.
Nicole Lander is a woman who loves the way technology lets her juggle her world.
As a small business owner and mother of two teenagers and, Mrs. Lander is a heavy user of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn and has a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop, and a desktop.
“I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself a geek but I absolutely love new gadgets,†she said.
Mrs. Lander, who runs www.lasertag.com.au from her suburban Brisbane office, said she was not surprised by the survey that women are outpacing men in taking up technologies such as online banking and social media.
“Women are great communicators and be it the telephone, or Facebook or email or whatever, it’s just another way of telling stories,†she said.
“We love telling stories and hearing about what other people are doing in their lives, I think it’s a natural course of events that women take up Facebook and other social media.â€
