One of the new genres/themes in SATR3 is Battlefield Sci-Fi. This theme covers futuristic weapons and devices as well as sci-fi monsters. With a Sci-fi Genre, gamers get special characters, weapons, and shields.
The SATR3 laser tag system a range of sci-fi characters including robot, cyborg, bounty hunter & knight. Plus there a range of weapons.

A shield usually in the secondary weapon slot and use the shield option. There is no muzzle flash associated with defenses. A shield only works when it is in the current active slot. Typically a player will have a shield in the secondary slot and switch to it when not attacking.
