Featured Weapon Emulation - Musket (set as an Elephant Gun)

The gaming engine SATR emulates 69 different weapons. These weapon emulations are categorized into four (4) classes:

  • hand guns
  • sub machine guns
  • rifles
  • machine guns

Musket DiagramToday we feature the famous Musket.

The Musket

The term Musket was actually used to describe a variety of weapons, including the long, heavy guns with matchlock, wheel lock or flint lock. The Musket used loose powder fired with the gun barrel resting on a stand. It also sometimes refered to lighter weapons with a snaphance, flintlock, or caplock and bullets using a stabilizing spin (Minié ball)..

This emulations is great for reenactments or for those battlefield operators who have included some of the Morita gaming guns in their arsenal.

This is typical example of a pre 20th century firearm. The Musket has a very long reload time. It is capable of a maximum of firing 3 rounds per minute.

So this SATR weapon emulation takes 19 seconds to reload!

But it has long range for the period.

The Elephant Gun - Emulation Variation

Normally in the SATR laser tag system when a gamer tags someone their oppositions looses one hit point. However, in this case the Musket emulations is set on "kill mode" meaning that if a gamer tags an opposition player they are automatically out of the game no matter what number of Hit Points they have. The old "one shot, one kill" concept.

This is used to emulated the famous Elephant Gun. An elephant gun is a large caliber gun, rifled or otherwise, so named because they were originally developed for use by big-game hunters for elephants and other big game. They used black powder cartridges at first but later used smokeless powder. This emulation will be used in this year's Endurance Battlefield LIVE event.
