New Friendly Fire Revolutionizes Multiplayer Games

SATR Advanced Friendly Fire Revolutionizes Multi-player Battlefield LIVE Games

With its new friendly fire by Teams Mode the latest Battlefield Sports SATR software has taken the game's scene in a new direction.

friendly fire by teamsToday, with the launch of the new Team Mode, teams can now battle over a Domination Box or other objective, with friendly fire on.

Go to a Battlefield LIVE venue on any given Saturday and you will see gamers running around a woodland, or around a warehouse arena, dodging and weaving and blasting each other with infra-red rays.

Most Battlefield Operators run these combat games with friendly fire off. In other words gamers on “Team A” (or Team Alpha/Red) cannot hit their teammates they can only shoot their opposition on “Team B” (Team Bravo/Blue). Likewise the battlefield accessories like the Domination Box and Medic Boxes recognize which team a player is on. For instance a gamer on Team A can only be respawned by a Medic Box set to Team A.

Now with the new Friendly Fire by Teams Mode Operators can host more realistic game play but still play the popular Domination Game.

Team Play an Integral Part of Battlefield LIVE

The Battlefield LIVE game is a special type of real-time strategy game. The patented technology uses peer-to-peer real-time hit feedback. This means there is no need for a central computer. The entire system, then is very flexible. It is perfect for mobile laser tag and if can scale up to cater for huge groups.

SATR team settings - friendly fire on or off Team-on-team engagements and team victories have been integral to the game play of Battlefield LIVE since SATR was first launched way back in 2009.

The ability to turn Friendly Fire on or off has always been important for Battlefield LIVE game play, especially for larger scale battles. Play with friendly fire one is a more realistic combat simulation. Gamers need to be careful not to shoot until they have confirmed they have an enemy in their sights.

This is especially important in a small arms tactical training environment. In this case the right tactical maneuvers and communication is required on the modern battlefield to prevent friendly fire incidents, especially as friendly and enemy forces often wear similar camouflage clothing.

In a combat entertainment scenario the ability to turn Friendly Fire off ensures that the players have a great time and a thrilling experience without the worry of a teammate shooting them in the back!

As the size of the group grows the friendly fire off feature becomes more and more important. The game play even with 60 or 100 gamers at a time is management, even with few staff.

The Friend/Foe identification, together with the radio control of the entire group from the one Master Controller, plus the fact that player cannot shoot with they are Dead enables the event to run smoothly. The staff ratio for Battlefield LIVE is much less than other games like paintball, airsoft or archery tag.

Just like the MMO online games, Battlefield LIVE is designed to support large number of gamers playing simultaneously.

The research and development team from Battlefield Sports has again pushed innovation with this new version of SATR, in particular its new Team Mode.

Just like MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing games) Battlefield LIVE offers a platform for a massively multiplayer live role-playing games.

Gamers on one team may cooperate with one another and on the opposition team compete, either way Battlefield LIVE missions work well on large scale battles.

Battlefield LIVE plays out well for small groups of 6 gamers but is a thrilling event for 60+ gamers. In fact the Head Quarters of Battlefield Sports hosted the world's most massive role-playing (laser tag) game with 436 players shooting it out.

SATR2.2 NEW FEATURES – TEAM MODE

The latest version of the famous, patented SATR technology enables a gaming gun to be set as Team A or B with friendly fire on.

This means for example you can play a Domination Game with friendly fire but the domination boxes knows what team the shooter is on. Therefore the computer inside the Domination Game will only count a tag from each team towards the overall victory.

The team setting still controls which Medic Box will respawns a player.

In previous versions of the patented digital SATR software friendly fire on was labeled as “Team X” on the gaming gun’s display.

In the new software version the "Team X" label is longer used. Rather this is either “Team b” on a gaming gun or “Any Team” on other types of units.

In the past the teams have been set as A versus B.  Specifically, there were “Team A” a

With the new Team Mode for the purposes of the Medic Boxes, Mystery Box, Ammo Box and most importantly the Domination Box all the boxes work by Teams. If the gaming gun is set to “Team b” that gun will work the same as “Team B”.  Further gamers on "Team a" can be hit by any gaming gun regardless of the shooter’s team setting.
