Battlefield Sports Scores Amongst the Best & Brightest

Local laser tag manufacturer, Battlefield Sports was recognized Friday night amongst the best and brightest of the Logan business community at the annual Business Distinction Awards.

Battlefield Sports won the Sports & Fitness Services Category for its innovations in getting the young and the young-at-heart active and engaged. Rather than a traditional sport, Battlefield Sports manufactures live gaming equipment so people can participate in a live action role play. Laser Skirmish is inspired from gaming elements of popular video games but players get outdoors and experience a real life scenario.

As well as manufacturing its laser tag equipment and exporting to more than 50 countries the Battlefield Sports team operate local Laser Skirmish fields in Mt Cotton, Mt Crosby, Samford and Tamborine. They also rent the laser tag equipment nationwide.

Business Distinction Awards

This year's Business Distinction awards were bestowed during a ceremony at the Logan Entertainment Centre attended by more than 1,000 people.
Representing the Battlefield Sports team were Ocean and Stacey Robinson, with kids Summer and Oliver [pictured] from Hinterland Horse Riding.  Hinterland Horse Riding were finalists in the Emerging Business category. Laser Skirmish (part of the Battlefield Sports' group) and Hinterland Horse Riding both operate at Thunderbird Park in Mount Tamborine. 


“We are delighted to be awarded the Business Distinction Award for Sports and Fitness Services. We believe in technology and innovation. We are excited about the future and the convergence between live gaming, sport and interactive entertainment,” said Nicole Lander, Chief Fun Officer Battlefield Sports.

“People love video games. And with our technology gamers can experience the thrill in a live, immersive experience in the forest or in their backyard. Digital savvy gamers love our new Battle Royale LIVE game,” she said.  


The Logan Chamber of Commerce Inc together with the Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce,  the 4118 Club and the Logan Country Chamber of Commerce hosted Logan's premiere awards night for local business.


The Awards were handed out to businesses large, medium, small and micro across 23 categories. Organisers received more than than 350 nominations this year.


Keynote Address From Kenton Campbell

Keynote speaker was Kenton Campbell. Kenton is an entrepreneur whose journey went from a Seattle coffee kart operator to now being the CEO of Zarraffa’s Coffee. Zarrafra's now has 80 plus stores in Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. 

Likewise Battlefield Sports’ story started small with juust with a few thousand dollars but with a big idea – to take a video games and experience them LIVE.
