Sport As Inspiration
This week we've seen the opening of the long-delayed Toyko Olympics.
The Japanese have a saying: "Nanakorobi Yaoki".
It literally means “fall down seven times, get up eight timesâ€, and is an expression that refers to the indomitable will to continue persevering until you achieve success.
(By the way, Nanakorobi Yaoki (七転八起) is pronounced “nah-nah koh-row-bee yah-oh-keeâ€.)
But this week we've felt a bit of inspiration to get up again!
This week, the hometown of Battlefield Sports has been announced as the host of the 2032 Summer Olympics.
The Games will go back to Australia 32 years after the popular 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Melbourne hosted the games in 1956.
Paris will host in 2024.
We may be in the middle of a pandemic with more than half of our nation’s population under lockdown, but sometimes sport can be an inspiration.
We will get up once again.
We will keep "fighting the good fight."
It is exciting news that Brisbane will be the Olympic host in a little over a decade.
And we hope that many of our Battlefield Operators will have the chance to come and visit our factory Headquarters in Brisbane. (Hopefully before the Olympics!)
